About Us
St. Mary's Parish Family Mission Statement
St. Mary's Parish was established in 1877 and for 70 years was the only Catholic parish in the city of Bismarck. St. Mary's was declared by Bishop Wehrle as his procathedral in 1910. St. Mary's set the standard in spiritual leadership and parochial education in the city.
Continuing in this rich tradition and called to be Church, we as St. Mary's Parish Family commit ourselves personally and as a community to respond to the call to be
"A People with the Mission of Christ"
Fulfilling Our Mission:

|
God Calls Us,

To Be a People Bonded to Christ and Each Other
By The Holy Spirit in Our Space and Time.
Our Mission is to build community that is empowered by the Spirit and that is based on hospitality, mutuality, trust, forgiveness, acceptance and love, and so reveals Christ's presence in our community and to our world.

|
God Calls Us,

As a Priestly People
To Celebrate Our Communal Life in the Spirit.
Our Mission is to be a prayerful community that worships and celebrates together, especially the Eucharist, out of a deep sense of our oneness in a joyous spirit.

|
God Calls Us,

As Prophets
To Proclaim the Good News.
Our Mission is to be the Good News by being true to who we are in word and action.

|
God Calls Us,

As Part of the Reign of God
To Serve One Another.
Our Mission is to recognize and empower the use of the unique gifts of each person to build up the Body of Christ, to oppose and correct injustice, both personal and systemic, and to heal a wounded humanity and the entire created order.
