Faith Formation
First Reconciliation
All children enrolled in any Sacramental process are required to provide proof of Baptism. They are enrolled in the Sacramental process during specific Masses at the beginning of the session so the whole parish can witness and show support and prayer for them.
Preparation for First Reconciliation begins in September for 2nd graders in our parish. These children receive some instruction in class at St. Mary's Grade School or in weekly Wednesday night Faith Formation sessions, but most of the preparation is experienced at home with their parents. First Reconciliation books are given to each child to be completed. There are 2 parent meetings to help explain the importance of this Sacrament, and to assist parents in preparing their children. There is also a retreat for the children shortly before the Sacrament, which takes place in December.
